Under new Dakar Rally rules, the 2013 pick up must be closer to the production model. The Isuzu Motorsports’ D-MAX is back to standard compression and the engine is a production engine with all production parts and a factory tuned ECU, plus an Isuzu Motorsports’ turbo. It produces approximately 180kW of peak power and 589Nm of maximum torque, compared to 130kW (@3600rpm) and 380Nm (@1800-3000rpm) respectively, for the standard Isuzu D-MAX engine.
